Hexagon, terrazzo and a new dormer
The biggest job in the archive: first the roof opened up for a dormer, then a complete bathroom in pink hexagon, terrazzo and a green ribbed vanity unit.
This bathroom was made bigger first. Scaffolding went up against the facade, the roof was opened and a dormer went in. Only then did the bathroom itself start.
The finish was allowed some colour: pink hexagon tiles against a terrazzo-like base, a green ribbed unit with two basins, and a round mirror that throws the daylight from the new dormer into the room.
Eerst het dak open
Steiger tegen de gevel, dakvlak open, dakkapel erin en het platte dak opnieuw dichtgezet. Zonder die ruimte was de rest van het plan niet gelukt.
Alles eruit
Binnen ging tegelijk de complete oude badkamer eruit: tegels, sanitair, leidingen en de oude scheidingswand.
Vloer, verwarming en tegelwerk
Vloerverwarming in de nieuwe vloer, daarna het tegelwerk. Hexagon uitzetten is precisiewerk: het patroon moet de hoek om zonder dat je een halve tegel ziet vallen op een verkeerde plek.
